May 18, 1998 by Dr. h.c. Rolf Schwarz-Schütte, the Arenberg-Schleiden GmbH, the Konrad-Henkel-Stiftung, 
Mannesmann AG and the Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der HHU

Foundation goal: 
Support of research and teaching at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, namely by renovation, maintenance
and the use of the university-owned Schloss Mickeln as education and event center

Schloss Mickeln (Mickeln Castle): Manor house of HHU

With "Schloss Mickeln" in the city district of Himmelgeist in Düsseldorf, surrounded by an extensive park, the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) has a representative conference center and guest house for events such as meetings, press conferences, festive events in a more upscale ambience and receptions. It has become the Guest House and Conference Centre of the Heinrich-Heine University since June 2000 thanks to the sponsorship of the Friends and Supporters of the University.
