Established: 
February 8, 1990 by Dr. Hedwig Hort and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Waldemar Hort em. (former Director of the Institute of Pathology)

Foundation goal:
Awarding of grants to students of all faculties at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf in the last third of their studies, who are distinguished by good achievements and who are interested in gaining additional knowledge and working on scientific topics, mainly as part of a study visit for up to three months at home or abroad. To provide the university library with means for accessions is yet another essential goal.

Tender offer: Hort-Stiftung awards grants

The Hedwig und Waldemar Hort-Stipendienstiftung for students of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf will awards grants annually.

Please note: The followning generel information is only for reference.
With its grants, the Hort-Stiftung addresses students of all faculties who are in the final third of their studies and wish to acquire additional knowledge or work on scientific topics during a maximum three-month study visit at home or abroad.

A further criterion for awarding grants is the good academic performance of the applicants (average grade of 2.5 or better). A support for collaborative projects is not possible.

Applications must be submitted to:

Hort-Stipendienstiftung, c/o Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der HHU e.V., Schadowplatz 14, 40212 Düsseldorf.

Applications must include the following documents:

•    a short curriculum vitae with address, details of previous course of studies and the intended final degree
•    certificates of academic achievement and the address of a university professor who can provide    information on the matter
•    detailed description of the project
•    schedule of estimated costs
•    written declaration that no financial support has been received or accepted from any other institution for the purpose applied for, either so far or after the Hort-Stiftung has granted support

The short-listed applicants will report their plans orally to the board of trustees before the end of the summer semester. The decision of the board of trustees will be announced shortly afterwards.
