Reinhard Heynen and Emmi Heynen Award

The Reinhard-Heynen- und Emmi-Heynen-Preis is an award for outstanding work or achievements by
university scientists who deserve support.

The award is endowed with  € 12,500.

Recent example from 2020 (awarded in 2021): Adjunct Professor Dr. Sven Gould was awarded for his outstanding scientific achievements in the research of molecular evolution. Gould investigates the processes by which evolution takes significant steps towards complexity. He wants to know why, over the course of evolution, cellular organelles developed as we find them in today's living beings – and how much of their bacterial ancestors are still in them today.
